4201 E. Arkansas Ave. Outreach Process:

When the City & County of Denver exercised their right to intervene on the CDOT headquarters site at 4201 E. Arkansas Ave., the contract with Kentro Group required the site to be rezoned, along with other conditions for affordable housing, job creation and commercial uses.

As a part of the rezoning process, Kentro Group is performing outreach to the neighborhood and surrounding community stakeholders.  Below is more information on the rezoning and community outreach process.

A group of neighbors and stakeholders from the area have formed a Task Force and are convening regular meetings to discuss the project, site and various characteristics.

Areas of focus include: zoning, mobility, neighborhood character, housing, etc.

Rezoning Process:

The contract for the 4201 E. Arkansas Ave. requires the site to be rezoned and includes other conditions for affordable housing, job creation and commercial uses.
A typical rezoning application takes approximately 5-6 months from the time an application is submitted.

The rezoning process in Denver includes:

  • Submittal and determination of a complete application
  • City agency referral review process involving multiple departments
  • Public hearing and recommendation by the Denver Planning Board
  • Denver City Council Committee meeting
  • Public hearing and consideration/vote by Denver City Council
