Early Investments Intuit Success

Kentro Group’s original office at 1509 York Street was also the company’s first commercial real estate investment in 2004. While working other full-time jobs, brothers Jimmy and George Balafas bought the three-story historic gem located along what’s now known as Colfax Avenue’s business district. They intuited what the neighborhood would soon become: a diverse mix of urban retail, arts, culture, restaurants and nightlife.

• 2008: Kentro Group incorporates and begins to purchase additional street retail and shopping centers in additional emerging neighborhoods.
• 2009: The Company redevelops entire mixed-use city block in Denver’s Colfax Corridor.
• 2014: Kentro Group opens first grocery-anchored center.
• Today: The Company continues to pair national retail anchors with the best local enterprises to create daily-use commercial environments that serve as the heart of core-plus and developing neighborhoods.
