Dimitrios “Jimmy” Balafas
Jimmy Balafas manages the Company and serves on the investment committee. Balafas founded Kentro Group after spending more than 15 years sourcing, acquiring and managing retail development opportunities for companies such as MVG Development and Pace Properties. Prior to entering the real estate industry,
Balafas was a consultant for Accenture. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and an MBA and Master of Real Estate & Construction from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business and is also a licensed real estate broker in Colorado.
George Balafas manages the Company and serves on the investment committee. His expertise includes investing, mergers and acquisitions, strategic recapitalizations, originating and executed debt transactions for public and private companies. Prior to founding Kentro Group, he served as Portfolio Director for Madison Capital; Vice President of GLC Management; and held additional roles with BNP Paribas, North Haven Partners and SG Cowen. Balafas earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Leeds School of Business.
Director of Development
Chris Viscardi directs development, construction and budgeting for Kentro Group’s new and pending projects. As a former Vice President at First Western Trust Bank, Viscardi managed a $100 million portfolio, among other accomplishments. Prior to First Western, Chris served as Commercial Real Estate Lender at Heartland Bank where he developed expertise in loan origination and the structuring, monitoring and workout of senior debit facilities. Earlier, Viscardi worked in investment banking at Brownfields Capital. Viscardi earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate from Colorado State University.
C0-Founder/Director of Marketing and Entitlements
Yianni Bellis navigates the complexities of entitlements to increase the value and viability of projects under development, coordinating planners, engineers, architects and others while assuring compliance. He also oversees development design. Prior to Kentro Group, Bellis served as Senior Project Manager for BCN Development where he gained expertise in both residential and commercial real estate development. Yianni earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Director of Asset Management
Kathy Bettis is the hands-on director of Kentro Group’s portfolio asset management efforts, leveraging her 25+ years of expertise in financial analysis, forecasting and property operations and management. She also manages tenant relationships, supervises property maintenance and leads overall office administration. Prior to joining Kentro Group, Bettis was a Senior Asset Manager and Director of Maintenance for Etkin Johnson Real Estate Partners where she was responsible for more than one million square feet of retail and commercial space. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Denver.
As an Associate at Kentro Group, Elliot Smith underwrites development and acquisition opportunities and assists company management with transactions. As a former Acquisitions Analyst at Simpson Housing, Smith assisted in the acquisition of five apartment deals, totaling over $400 million. Earlier, Smith was the Senior Market Analyst at THK Associates. Smith earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with a Real Estate Certificate from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Leeds School of Business.
Pam Fischer as controller leads the Kentro Group accounting department, and oversees the preparation of financial reports, designs processes and systems specific to Kentro Group, and is responsible for all tax reporting. After 10 years in public accounting, Pam became controller for Continuum Partners and setup processes and reporting for the Belmar shopping project in Lakewood which she used as a model in her role as Controller for Teatro Tower, the developer of Four Seasons – Denver. Pam graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Colorado – Denver and went on to obtain her CPA and CGMA .
Marla Peragallo handles daily accounting functions at Kentro Group. She has also served as a principal in an online ticket brokerage and as bookkeeper to businesses in various industries. Earlier, Peragallo was an as assistant property manager for Catlin Properties, handling details for office buildings in Denver’s northwest and southern suburbs. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Anthony Shepherd coordinates demolition and construction projects while also evaluating and enlisting outside vendors to provide maintenance and repair services for Kentro Group’s diverse assets. Hands-on, Shepherd supervises work requests and performs scheduled and preventive property maintenance. Previously, Shepherd was the facilities manager for over 200,000 square feet of commercial space in the metro Denver area.
